2 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cups vegetable oil1 ¼ cups sugar
3 large eggs, at room temperature1 cup evaporated milk
1/3 cup milk1 tablespoon vanilla extract
¼ cup poppy seeds- preheat oven to 375 degrees
- grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan
- in a large bowl, sift together the flour, the baking powder, and the salt. set aside
- in a large bowl, mix the oil and the sugar. Add the eggs one at a time , beating after each addition. add the evaporated milk, the milk, and the vanilla. add the dry ingredients and mix well. stir in the poppy seeds
- pour the batter into the prepared tube pan. bake for 45 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into the center of bread comes out with moist crumbs attached. let cool for 20 minutes before serving.
